Residents of Fizuli thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his initiative to build a mosque

Residents of the Azerbaijani city of Fuzuli sent a letter of gratitude to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for his initiative to build a mosque in their city, the APA news agency reported.

The letter notes that the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to build a religious building is a contribution to the process of restoring the region and reflects the historical ties between the two peoples.

The mosque's foundation laying ceremony took place online on October 7 as part of the Organization of Turkic States summit in Gabala, attended by the heads of Turkic states and governments.

The letter also mentions Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's visit to Karabakh in July 2025 and the establishment of sister-city relations between the cities of Fizuli and Arkadag.

Residents of Fizuli expressed gratitude for the attention to the region's spiritual life and wished Turkmenistan and its people prosperity and well-being.
