Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan on announcing a competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award
The great achievements and successes achieved in all spheres in independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan inspire the country's cultural, artistic and creative workers to create new, modern works.
The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution with the aim of identifying talented creative workers who reflect the great reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the remarkable 35th anniversary of sacred independence, permanent neutrality, glorious history, and national values through perfect works, selecting and encouraging the best of them, enriching Turkmen literature with large-scale works, and further developing national art. This was reported in the newspaper "Edebiyat ve sungart" .
In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan signed on November 14, 2025:
1. To announce a competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan among literary, cultural and artistic workers, aspiring singers, and talented children.
Foreign citizens who are interested in the competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan should also be invited to participate.
2. The winners of the competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan shall be determined in the following categories:
1) the best poems and essays;
2) the best articles and essays;
3) the best stories, translations, short stories, and novels;
4) the best books, publications, and design and decoration works;
5) the best TV and radio talk show series;
6) the best films, stage plays and performances;
7) the best dance, folklore and musical performances;
8) the singer's high performance skills;
9) the musician's high performance skills;
10) best musical works;
11) organization of cultural and mass events at a high level;
12) the best works of fine arts, applied arts, photography, crafts and design and decoration;
13) the best carpets, rugs, and felts.
The competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan should conclude in September 2026, in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
The high-level organization of the competition for the President of Turkmenistan's "Golden Age of Turkmen" award should be ensured by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, and the Turkmen State Publishing Service.
3. As part of the competition for the President of Turkmenistan's "Golden Age of Turkmen" award, a "Yanglan, Diyarym!" television competition for young amateur singers and a "Chalsana, baghsy!" competition among dutar players should be announced.
The "Chalsana, Bakhshi!" competition should conclude in August 2026, and the "Yağlan, Diyarym!" competition should conclude in September 2026.
The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan, the regional administrations and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag should ensure the high-level organization of the "Burn, My Homeland!" TV contest and the "Chalsana, Baghshi!" contest.
4. As part of the competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan, a "Pearl Beads of Independence" competition should be announced among talented children and concluded in September 2026.
The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan should ensure the high-level organization of the "Pearls of Independence" competition.
The costs associated with holding the "Pearls of Independence" competition should be financed from the funds allocated for the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan in the State Budget of Turkmenistan.
5. The winners of the competition for the “Golden Age of Turkmen” award of the President of Turkmenistan should be awarded a cash prize and a gold chain of the President of Turkmenistan, the winners of the “Burn, My Homeland!” TV competition and the “Chalsana, Baghsy!” competition should be awarded a gold chain of the President of Turkmenistan, and the winners of the “Pearls of Independence” competition should be awarded gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
6. The travel, food, and accommodation expenses of the winners of the contest for the “Golden Age of Turkmen” award of the President of Turkmenistan, the “Burn, Diyarym!” TV contest, and the “Chalsana, Baghsy!” contest, as well as the cultural and artistic professionals who will participate in the ceremony, shall be financed from the budget funds of the budget-financed institutions, from the own funds of the self-financing institutions, as well as the expenses related to the organization and preparation of stage decorations for the festive concerts to be held on the occasion of summing up the results of the competitions, from the funds allocated for the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan in the State Budget of Turkmenistan.
7. A team should be formed and its composition approved to select the winners of the competition for the "Golden Age of Turkmen" award of the President of Turkmenistan (added).
8. The Central Bank of Turkmenistan shall provide monetary awards for the purposes specified in this resolution from the Charitable Foundation of the President of Turkmenistan.
9. The implementation of this resolution shall be supervised by the respective Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, the Chairman of the Turkmen State Publishing Service, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the khyakims of the regions and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, and the Chairman of the Supreme Chamber of Supervision of Turkmenistan.
