A ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality was held in Brussels
A grand reception was held in Brussels to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the Year of International Peace and Confidence. The reception was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium. It was attended by heads of European institutions, the Belgian Government, representatives of international organizations, ambassadors, diplomats, public figures and representatives of the cultural sphere. In his speech, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sapar Palwanov noted that Turkmenistan's Neutrality was a solid foundation of the Independent Turkmen State, as well as an important instrument for strengthening peace and stability in the region. The Ambassador noted that Turkmenistan is the only state in the world whose policy of Neutrality was recognized three times by the Resolution of the UN General Assembly and enshrined in the Constitution.
The diplomat emphasized that neutrality remains the main direction of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. It allows for unifying regions and building new bridges of cooperation between Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia.
Serge Strubans, Director of the Europe and Middle East Division of the Institute for Economics and Peace, emphasized the importance of investing in sustainable development, emphasizing that peace is achieved through concrete economic and social solutions. He said that projects such as TAPI and TPP lay the foundation for shared development, contribute to long-term stability, and help strengthen the relationship between the countries of the region.
In her speech, Barbara Dietrich, President and Founder of Diplomatic World, emphasized the organization's long-standing partnership with the Turkmen diplomatic mission.
During the ceremony, Turkmen costumes were introduced, and guests were offered national dishes.
