The President of Turkmenistan was awarded the highest state award of Uzbekistan

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the Order of Friendship of the Highest Degree, the Turkmenistan newspaper reported.

The ceremony took place on Monday at the Kuksaroy residence in Tashkent as part of the Turkmen President's state visit to Uzbekistan.

"This decision reflects the sincere respect and recognition by the people of Uzbekistan of the achievements of the President of Turkmenistan in strengthening friendship, mutual trust, and the strategic partnership between the two fraternal countries," Mirziyoyev noted when presenting the award.

The Order of Friendship of the Highest Degree was established in 2020 and is Uzbekistan's highest state award for foreign citizens. It is awarded to heads of state and government, representatives of parliaments of other countries and international organizations, and prominent figures in various fields.
