Tashkent will host the IV Asian Youth Games in 2029

The Executive Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia has decided to hold the IV Asian Youth Games in Tashkent in 2029. This was announced during the closing ceremony of the III Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, olympic.uz reports.

Initially, the capital of Uzbekistan was scheduled to host the competitions in 2025. However, in December 2024, the Olympic Council of Asia awarded the right to host the games to Bahrain due to the failure to complete construction of the Olympic Village in Tashkent on schedule.

The Asian Youth Games were established in 2009. The first competition was held in Singapore, and the second was held in Nanjing, China, in 2013. The third games were held in 2025 in Bahrain, where Uzbek athletes achieved the best result in the country's history of participation in these competitions.
