The President of Turkmenistan participated in the events of Remembrance Day
Today, on Memorial Day, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the "People's Memory" memorial complex. This was reported by the "Watan" news program.
As noted, on Remembrance Day, the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake and those who died on the battlefields were commemorated.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the "People's History" memorial complex located in the southwestern part of Ashgabat. The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was first performed here.
Then the mournful song "Kechpelek" is heard, which has become a unique musical anthem of national mourning for those who lost their lives in natural disasters and for the fallen defenders of the Motherland.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in memory of those who died in the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake, laid a wreath at the "I bow to the spirit" monument.
Then the head of state laid a wreath at the "Sons of the Nation" monument, erected in memory of the heroes who fought for the freedom of the Motherland and its happy future.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov then laid a wreath at the "Baky Shohrat" monument.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries and international organizations in Turkmenistan laid wreaths. Heads and representatives of political parties, public organizations, ministries, departmental bodies, respected elders, students, and residents of the capital followed their example.
The Head of State prayed for the acceptance of donations and prayers made in memory of the deceased. After the commemorative events were completed, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow departed from the "People's Memory" memorial complex.
On Memorial Day, such events were held in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and in all regions of the country.
