President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the employees of the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan on their professional holiday, TDH reports.
In his address, the head of state noted that since the first days of independence, Turkmenistan has adhered to the principles of positive neutrality, equal cooperation and good neighborliness in international relations. This approach has been twice recognized by special resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
The President emphasized that the country’s foreign policy is implemented on a systemic basis in accordance with the Concept of the Foreign Policy Course of Neutral Turkmenistan for 2022-2028. The diplomatic service faces important tasks in protecting national interests, implementing international initiatives and developing multifaceted cooperation.
Particular attention in the congratulations was paid to the fact that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared by the UN as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted Turkmenistan’s growing activity on the world stage and strengthening of relations with various countries and international organizations. He also mentioned the Global Security Strategy presented at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, which, in his opinion, will become an important basis for interstate relations in the 21st century.
In conclusion, the head of state expressed confidence that Turkmen diplomats will successfully cope with the tasks assigned to them to protect national interests and strengthen the country’s authority on the international arena.
