Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a comprehensive meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council. The meeting was also attended by the mayors of the regions and the city of Ashgabat. This was reported by the "Watan" news program.

At the meeting, the floor was first given to the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanov. The Speaker of the National Parliament reported on the results of the work carried out to determine the motto and symbol of 2026. As noted, based on the wisdom of the National Leader of the Turkmen people that the coming Year of the Horse is of special importance, that Akhal-Teke horses have a great place in the centuries-old history of the Turkmen people, and in order to celebrate the achievements of the sovereign Motherland, which is confidently advancing to the heights of development with the help of the horse, under the wise leadership of the Head of State, in all areas, based on the proposals received from people's representatives, large public associations, labor groups and citizens, the Resolution of the Parliament on naming the year 2026 the Year of the Horse was read out.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Mejlis, the year 2026 was declared "Independent, Eternal Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of the Brave Horse-Murad."

Addressing the participants of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan noted that in order to modernize each year, a slogan of the year is announced and a symbol is adopted. In this regard, the Head of State said that the members of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, together with the people, propose a slogan and symbol for the coming year, and, supporting this proposal, announced the slogan for 2026 as “Independent, Eternally Neutral Turkmenistan - the Land of the Brave and Brave Horse-Myrad”.
