Turkmen students won five gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad
Students from Turkmenistan won five gold medals at the IV International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University in Ashgabat from October 15 to 17. The Olympiad results were published on the official Magtymguly Turkmen State University website.
The Olympiad was held as an individual competition in two categories. Category A was for students majoring in chemistry, while Category B was for students majoring in non-chemistry.
In Category A, Yakup Annaorazov and Shatlyk Batyrov from Magtymguly Tomsk State University won gold medals. A total of 14 gold medals were awarded in this category, 11 of which went to Russian students and one to a representative from Belarus.
In Category B, the Turkmen team won three gold medals. The winners were Yhlas Jumayev from the Myrat Garryev Turkmen State Medical University, and Arslan Jumayev and Selbi Pashikova from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. Students from Uzbekistan (four gold medals), Russia, and China (two gold medals each) also excelled in this category.
More than 100 students from 24 higher education institutions in Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as more than 150 students from 23 universities in Turkmenistan, took part in the Olympiad.
