Ashgabat is in favor of expanding cooperation in the energy sector with the countries of Central Asia and China. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated this during the second summit of the countries of the region and China, TDH reports.

“In the energy sector, Turkmenistan also supports expanding cooperation within our format and sees serious prerequisites for this. In this context, we are ready to discuss issues of diversifying the supplies of Turkmen natural gas. The most important component of the energy component of cooperation is the electric power industry. Here, Turkmenistan also supports expanding the geography and volumes of electricity supplies,” the President of Turkmenistan said.

According to the head of state, the most important role in the joint economic prosperity of the countries of Central Asia and China is played by the stimulation of trade and commerce, the creation of joint ventures of various profiles.

The second summit "Central Asia - China" was held on June 17, the first summit was held in 2023 in Xi'an, China. The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, as well as the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, attended the event.
