The President of Turkmenistan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
On April 17, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri, who presented his credentials to the head of state.Expressing gratitude for the hospitality shown and noting the Kingdom’s high appreciation of Turkmenistan’s achievements in various fields, the Ambassador, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings to the head of state and Hero-Arkadag on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.Having warmly welcomed and congratulated him on his appointment to a high diplomatic post, the President of Turkmenistan wished the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia great success in consistently strengthening bilateral relations. The head of state also addressed his best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country.It was further emphasized that both countries successfully interact not only in a bilateral format, but also within the framework of authoritative international structures, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Speaking about this, the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the Saudi side for its active support of Turkmenistan’s initiatives and proposals on the world stage.During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects of interstate partnership in the trade and economic sphere, the annually increasing trade turnover between the countries was noted, as well as the availability of all opportunities for further intensification of targeted interaction.Among the promising vectors of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were identified the fuel and energy, trade, investment, transport and communications sectors, the chemical industry, textile and agricultural industries.At the same time, as was noted, there are great opportunities for joint work in the spheres of culture, science, art and creativity.Having emphasized the need to study the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two peoples within the framework of cultural and humanitarian partnership, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to the traditionally mutually beneficial dialogue with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Expressing confidence in the consistent development of bilateral relations for the sake of well-being and prosperity of both countries and their peoples, the head of state addressed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan with his best wishes.At the end of the meeting, the diplomat once again expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the warm welcome and assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly interstate relations.

The winners of the “AI Solutions” student hackathon have been announced in Turkmenistan

The Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan summarized the results of the national student hackathon "AI Solutions" and announced the winners. The competition took place on February 21 at the "Sanly Çözgüt - IT meýdança" business association, which operates under the Institute. Sixteen student teams participated—one from each university, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age." The first place was won by teams from the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas. The second place was won by teams from the International University for Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. Third place was awarded to teams from the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov, the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The winners received diplomas and commemorative gifts from the host university. Six teams from several other universities across the country received incentive prizes. Hackathon participants competed in developing IT products using artificial intelligence, specifically testing systems capable of generating questions based on user categories and evaluating results based on the answers received. The effectiveness and performance of the participants' innovative solutions were assessed by a panel of experts, including university professors of IT disciplines and invited experts in the field.
