The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan reminds of fire safety rules during the New Year holidays

The Fire Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan has issued recommendations on fire safety measures ahead of the New Year holidays.

As noted in the press service, there is a possibility of an increased risk of fire in residential buildings during the holidays due to violations of the rules for the use of electrical equipment and gas.

When decorating Christmas trees, citizens are advised to use only active electric holiday lights and to place the tree away from heating appliances. It is strictly forbidden to light fireworks, firecrackers and sparklers near the tree or objects that can easily catch fire. Experts also emphasize that young children should not be left unattended in rooms where electric decorations are installed.

Particular attention should be paid to the safe use of gas-fired stoves. According to the recommendations, special fire-resistant protective covers should be provided under gas stoves. To prevent the accumulation of carbon monoxide in rooms, it is mandatory to install air extraction systems in accordance with technical regulations.

Before leaving home, citizens should make sure that all electrical appliances are unplugged and gas taps are turned off. According to experts, the majority of fires are caused by unattended electrical appliances and malfunctioning gas appliances.

As noted by the Fire Safety Department, following simple fire safety rules will help prevent accidents during the New Year holiday and protect the safety and lives of citizens.
