Turkmenistan – Malaysia: New Directions and Proposals for Cooperation Between Educational Institutions

On March 17, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiev, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan, Mr. Mohd Suhimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries, implementing agreements on collaboration in education and exchange of experience, as reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

As a prime example of active cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia in science and education, the activities of Petronas in Turkmenistan were highlighted, along with the opportunities provided for Turkmen students at the company's Technological University to receive quality education.  

During the meeting, proposals were made to develop new areas of cooperation between the educational institutions of the two countries, including the implementation of joint projects. In this context, the parties exchanged views on the active participation of Malaysian students in international Olympiads and competitions held in Turkmenistan.

The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan informed the Ambassador that an official invitation had been sent for Malaysian schoolchildren to participate in the II International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren, which will be held in Turkmenistan. He expressed confidence that this event would contribute to strengthening educational ties between the countries.  

It was also noted that in order to develop cooperation in education between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, work plans were prepared to implement the documents signed at the end of last year.

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan requested the Government of Malaysia to consider providing scholarships for Turkmen students, expressing confidence that this step would mark a new stage in educational cooperation.

In turn, Ambassador Mohd Suhimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin thanked the Minister for the reception, expressed gratitude for the proposed initiatives, and emphasized the great prospects for the development of educational ties between Turkmenistan and Malaysia. Additionally, he proposed developing cooperation between secondary specialized educational institutions of the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in the further active development of the partnership and confirmed their readiness to work together to implement new projects and educational initiatives.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has congratulated all his compatriots on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, which is celebrated at the state level with great pomp in honor of the glorious horses created on the basis of folk selection, which have found perfection through the talent of wise fathers and have made a worthy contribution to the development of world culture. In his congratulatory message, the head of state noted the special importance of the role of winged horses in the life of the brave people, and that since ancient times, the heavenly horses, known worldwide as "heavenly horses", "Nisai horses", and "winged horses", are the national pride, pride, and valuable asset of the people. This is clearly reflected in such wise sayings as "A horse has wings", "A horse will be a horse, a horse is a legacy", "A horse is a statehood", and "A horse is a source of livelihood". "Our heavenly horses, considered the indelible heritage of our ancestors and one of the pioneers of world equestrian culture, are known for their uniqueness, beauty, humane character and loyalty to their owners. Accordingly, our state creates all conditions for the international development of horse breeding, Turkmen national horsemanship, equestrian sports in our ancestral homeland, and for the continuous improvement of the living conditions of horse lovers. The fact that the Galkynysh national equestrian troupe has repeatedly won the main and special prizes at international circus festivals further increases our people's pride in our horses. During this year, which has been declared "Independent, Eternal Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of the Horse-Ball Horse-Myrad", it is planned to hold a number of events in the field of equestrian sports in our country and abroad in accordance with the Program of Events to be held in the field of equestrian sports. These events will give a great impetus to further popularize the fame of our Akhal-Teke horses around the world," the Congratulatory Message of the President of Turkmenistan states. At the end of his congratulatory message, the Head of State once again sincerely congratulated the Turkmen Horse National Day, which is widely celebrated in the year of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's sacred independence, and wished all the Turkmen people good health, long life, family well-being, and great success in their work to further develop and improve the art of Turkmen horse breeding.
