Turkmen students win three golds at YISF in Indonesia

Students of the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology Suleimanmuhammet Shamuhammedov and Aimurat Khalnazarov won three gold medals at the International Youth Science Fair (YISF) in Indonesia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen students presented their scientific work "Scientific Basis for Obtaining Green Cement from Industrial Waste" under the guidance of university teacher Atamurat Altiyev. The project brought them a gold medal in the "Environmental Protection" category, a special award from the Malaysian Young Scientists Organization (MYSO) for the best scientific work of 2025, as well as the "Semi Grand Award" from the Indonesian Young Scientists Association (IYSA).

A total of 446 teams from 24 countries took part in the competition, which was held in five areas - social sciences, ecology, biology, innovative sciences and engineering. The international competition became a platform for the presentation of scientific works and the development of international cooperation in the field of education and innovation.

During the event, participants from Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Austria, China, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, South Africa, Mexico, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Thailand, the UAE, Bangladesh, Iran, Romania, Brazil, Turkey, Singapore, Vietnam, the USA, India and Malaysia presented innovative projects aimed at solving global problems of sustainable development, environmental protection and the development of new technologies.
