The 41st meeting of the ministers of culture of TURKSOY member states was held in Ashgabat

On November 16, the 41st meeting of the ministers of culture of the member states of the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY) was held at the Ashgabat Hotel. It was one of the main events on the occasion of the declaration of the ancient Turkmen city of Anew as the "Turkish cultural capital of the world" in 2024, TDH informs.

As mentioned, the participants of the assembly expressed their admiration for the achievements of Turkmenistan today. The members of the Supreme Council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture highly appreciated the activities carried out with the joint efforts of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy and declared as the year of this great poet and thinker of the East by the decision of TURKSOY.

Among those events are the 2nd theater festival of the member countries of the International Organization of Turkish Culture and within its framework the forum of writers and artists of the member countries of TURKSOY, the international film festival "Gorkut ata", international consultations, contests, exhibitions, creative meetings, joint concerts.

The participants emphasized the importance of activating the cultural-humanitarian dialogue and expressed their gratitude to the Turkmen side for the hospitality shown and the high level of organization of these important events. These activities were a continuous contribution to the further strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations between Turkic-speaking peoples.

Words of gratitude were expressed to the name of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his multifaceted activities and comprehensive support aimed at expanding the traditional cooperation between TURKSOY member states.

During the meeting, specific decisions on activating joint efforts in the priority areas of the organization's work aimed at studying, promoting and preserving the spiritual values ​​and historical-cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples at the international level were discussed and adopted.

The Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture considered the recommendations and proposals from the member states and approved the Work Program of TURKSOY for the coming year 2025, taking them into account. For the next year, the title of "Turkish cultural capital of the world" was awarded to the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.

The Final Declaration was signed on the results of the meeting.
