Interregional training was held for members of the port control teams of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan

In the customs office of Turkmenabat, Lebap province, an interregional training was held to improve the skills of members of the port control teams of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

According to information provided on the "Turkmenistan: Altyn asyr" website, this training was organized within the framework of the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime and the World Customs Organization monitoring program.

The training was conducted by Svetlan Savov, an expert of the World Customs Organization.

As stated in the report, the training aims to increase the knowledge of the members of the Port control teams on the methods of profiling risky cargoes, their selection and prevention of illegal shipments, as well as the methods of documentary cargo inspection. The participants were introduced to the provisions of the Customs Convention on Containers of 1972, intellectual property rights from the perspective of customs authorities and the World Customs Organization's ContainerCOMM platform for secure information exchange.

In the practical part of the training, the participants enriched their knowledge on document selection and control, methods based on selection, physical examination of cargoes selected for inspection, as well as sharing preliminary information about individual cargoes with port control teams.
